Barclays Bank in Whitechapel currently has one of the worst services in London. It doesn't matter if there is COVID, every time I go there even if it is early morning. There is a ONE MILE LONG QUEUE outside the bank which means the staff do not let customers inside and make everyone wait outside. If you want use the service you have to stand at the back of the ONE MILE LONG QUEUE.
If staff are so scared then they should stay at and let those who do a good job to operate the bank do it - i.e. the customers. It is outrageous, appalling and disgusting for them to provide this type of low-level service. Perhaps this is the ONLY branch open in London but even that should not be an excuse.
There is a huge / vast amount of space inside but they only let maybe two or three customers in at a time when the rest of the whole bank is empty. What is the point of not allowing customers into the bank and closing the bank very early? The queue outside is not spaced out in one or two meters, everyone is close to each other. Also when all the people disperse they wont be socially distancing, everyone will be mingling within a space of 0.5 meters to 0.7 meters.
The service provided by this bank is appalling and utter rubbish!
